It’s Monday morning. Back to work and school and regular life after a weekend away. I was scrolling through my old posts and just happen to open this one. It’s uncanny sometimes how the universe works to show you things you may need to hear. I am in a personal season of growth (hope I always am to be honest), a wonderful, exciting new chapter in my relationship that just keeps getting better and in a season of struggle with my college daughter.
Finding this post this morning with this word was just a refreshing reminder of what we all go through in life. We will all suffer difficulties, some we bring to ourselves, some others give us. As a mama, this is very challenging, sad and painful to watch. Each parent wants to shield and protect their children from pain and mistakes. But I have learned it is only through those mistakes that we learn. The only way to get through it all is to have Perseverance. This is a long haul, long game word. It is not a one time thought or exercise and you have it mastered. Those hard moments in life give us the opportunity to gain this ability. To grow and teach us.
We each have struggles and obstacles that we must tackle. Sometimes a moment, often for a season. It is tough this morning for me to accept that my daughter is choosing a harder road than I feel is necessary. My hope is it will teach her perseverance. It is definitely going to help me continue to learn it. It is only with perseverance that we will get through. So keep going; when difficulties hit, dig deep. Keep the course.
Steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles or discouragement.
